Itanagar: Boleng officials launched the Dosing Kumku Clean & Green Village Mission on Saturday. The project targets scientific waste management and environmental health in Dosing village. Local authorities organized the initiative with backing from the Pakke Declaration Secretariat Cell under the state Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. The program demands community involvement to succeed.
Attendees included Boleng Circle Officer Kali Mara, Member-Secretary Niyang Pertin, and representatives from the Dosing Social Welfare Society. Gaon Burahs, youth leaders, and self-help group members also showed up for the kickoff. A newly formed Mission Committee will monitor every activity moving forward. Following the announcement, residents immediately cleared out roadside drains and public areas.
This mission pushes the goals of the Pakke Declaration 2047 down to the village level. It also adopts the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. Officials identified several core problems to fix: plastic waste, open drains, missing dustbins, and loose livestock. Consequently, the administration banned stray livestock from roaming free within the village. The committee must now enforce this new rule.
Future plans include an exposure trip to the Pangin Clean Model Village. Villagers will receive bamboo dustbins for household use. The project also mandates waste segregation and regular plantation drives. Niyang Pertin, APCS, Member-Secretary (PR) of Boleng, stated the mission aims to serve as a community-driven model for sustainable rural development. The office also proposed an integrated plan featuring electric rickshaws for plastic collection and local transport.
