Kohima: Zunheboto Town Council opened an Organic Marketing Shed at the local Super Market on September 29, 2026. The project creates a direct pipeline between farmers and shoppers. It aims to boost local organic production and support sustainable livelihoods for producers.

The event began with an invocation from ZTC councillor Hilika Y. Yeptho. Councillor and advisor Hekuto Zhimo gave a short address. Pastor Kupuli Achumi of Project (W) performed the consecration and blessing. ZTC chairperson K. Herato Sukhalu formally opened the facility. ZTC councillor Kakikho Achumi chaired the program.

According to a DIPR report, the space provides an organized platform for fresh, locally sourced goods. The council expects the shed to encourage healthier food choices throughout the town. Officials hope the facility will "strengthen the local agricultural economy" by cutting out the middleman and keeping profits in the community.
