Woman Alleges Staff Abandoned Monigong Health Center During Emergency

Itanagar: A woman seeking emergency care for her infant found the Primary Health Centre in Monigong town empty. No staff were on site. The facility sits near the India-China border in Arunachal's Shi Yomi district. She searched the clinic and the staff quarters but found nobody to treat her child.

She recorded a video of the deserted premises to document the lack of medical help. The woman claimed the facility suffers from persistent neglect and poor staffing. She accused doctors and nurses of skipping shifts and showing a lack of professionalism. These medical personnel remain absent even during urgent cases, she said.

She stated, "Despite arriving during official working hours, she was unable to find doctors, nurses or other medical personnel at the PHC." The incident shines a harsh light on the struggle to keep remote border clinics running. Local residents rely on these spots for all their medical needs. Neither the Shi Yomi district administration nor the state health department responded to the claims by the time of this report.
