West Indies Crush India in Record T20 Chase

Shillong: West Indies pulled off a record-breaking 250-run chase to beat India by six wickets in Ranchi on Friday. The visitors finished on 252 for four with nine balls to spare. They leveled the five-match series 1-1.

India batted first and posted 249 for five at a rate of 12.45 runs per over. Sanju Samson led the charge with a 21-ball 52, while Ishan Kishan added 17 off 12. Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma later combined for 50 runs in 22 balls. The hosts reached 200 in the 18th over.

West Indies stumbled early. They sat at 58 for three in the sixth over before the recovery began. Shai Hope hammered an unbeaten 100 off 45 balls. Sherfane Rutherford joined him with a blistering 84 from 37 deliveries. The duo put up 120 runs to dismantle the Indian attack. Both hitters reached their half-centuries in only 24 balls.

Rutherford fell at 178, but Romario Shepherd kept the pressure on. Hope finished his century with seven fours and eight sixes. Following the win, the team looks ahead. "West Indies will now look to build on their emphatic turnaround in the remaining matches," the reports stated.
