Imphal: The Koireng-led United National Liberation Front mourns the loss of Captain N. Pandamba. The senior officer died on August 1 at Heirok Part II Chingol. Known as Inaocha, he was a key figure within the Manipur People's Army. He leaves behind a long record of service.
Born on July 19, 1986, Pandamba signed up for the armed wing in 2002 at just 15 years old. He finished Basic Military Training before joining the ranks. Over two decades, he moved through the 241 and 291 Battalions, the Tactical Unit, and the Joint Fighting Force under the Coordination Committee. He saw real combat. Specifically, he took part in the 2007 Khengjoi operation and handled difficult patrol duties.
His dedication earned him a promotion to Probationary Party Cadre in 2021. The UNLF Central Committee eventually made him a full Party Cadre on November 24, 2024. Secretary of Publicity M. Shak-Hen issued a statement praising his long career. The group described him as a loyal and committed member who remained steadfast during challenging phases of the organisation.
The outfit shared its grief with the family, friends, and comrades left behind. They offered a final salute to his memory. The statement concluded that he remained a dedicated officer until the end, stating, "The outfit conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends and comrades while paying revolutionary tribute to the deceased."
