Shillong: A 50-year-old man died Sunday night after a speeding truck struck him on National Highway-6 at Mawkapiah. Christopher Diengdoh tried to cross the road at 7:30 pm. He died on the spot. The truck driver kept moving toward Shillong and did not stop.
Police launched an investigation to find the vehicle and the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. Officials moved Diengdoh’s body to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for legal formalities. The investigation remains ongoing as police search for the suspect.
