Agartala: Tripura minister Sudhanshu Das attacked the Congress party on September 30. He claimed the party blames external factors for losses instead of fixing internal failures. Rahul Gandhi leads a party that has lost more than 96 elections. The minister blasted them for blaming the Chief Election Commissioner to mask their own incompetence.
The criticism stems from recent Village Council and Village Committee elections held across the state. This includes areas governed by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Voters had 4,597 seats on the line. Congress failed to show up for most of them. They fielded candidates for roughly 325 seats, leaving thousands of slots empty. Das noted the party ignored fewer than 400 seats total.
Das mocked the opposition for crying foul over vote manipulation when they refused to run. He demanded to know why they stayed away from the ballot box. "My point is simple: where you could not even provide candidates, naturally you will lose the election," Das said. The minister insists that blaming the National Democratic Alliance for stolen votes is merely a cover for organizational collapse. The outburst adds heat to the ongoing national fight over the integrity of the Election Commission.
