Tripura Inducts 470 New Police Personnel After Training

Agartala: Tripura officially welcomed 469 constables from the 92nd batch and one rifleman from the 15th battalion into the police force this Saturday. The recruits finished 12 months of intense training. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha presided over the passing out parade at the R.K. Nagar headquarters. He serves as the home minister as well.

Saha pushed the new officers to prioritize integrity and hard work. The job demands respect. "Dedication and integrity towards duty keys to earn respect, recognition," Saha told the crowd. He expects the new hires to show professionalism and compassion while serving the public. The government aims to turn the force into a modern, technology-driven entity. These recruits spent their training year mastering cyber security, jungle warfare, disaster management, and traffic control.

The state remains committed to building a transparent police force. Officials noted that 975 constables joined via a transparent process last year. Furthermore, 318 women graduated from the 51st and 52nd batches this past May. The government plans to hire 218 sub-inspectors soon. They also approved the recruitment of 916 additional constables.

The event highlighted the deep history of local policing. The system traces its roots to the 13th-century princely era, with the modern structure forming in 1965. Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, and Home Secretary Abhishek Singh attended the ceremony alongside other top officials.
