Three Dead After Grisly Discovery in South Tripura Home

Agartala: Police are searching for answers after three family members were found dead inside their West Muhuripur home in South Tripura. The victims are 65-year-old Sankar Chakraborty, his 49-year-old wife Chabi, and their 27-year-old son, Krishna.

The grisly scene was discovered on July 24. The couple's elder son, Mithun Chakraborty, returned home to find the house locked from the inside. He peered through a rear window and saw his brother, Krishna, hanging from the ceiling. Mithun forced entry to find his mother, Chabi, with her throat slit and his father, Sankar, suffering from severe head injuries. Both parents lay in pools of blood.

Mithun stated that Krishna, who worked for a private company, had returned home early on the day of the incident to perform a religious ritual. He later sent Mithun to an uncle's house to retrieve a locker key. Mithun claims he and his family accepted Krishna's recent court marriage, but he suspects the bride's family may be involved in the tragedy. He noted, "There had been no domestic disputes within our family."

Personnel from the Baikhora and Belonia police stations, alongside the Additional Superintendent of Police, processed the scene. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Diptanu Das confirmed the bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations. Forensic teams are currently gathering material evidence to piece together the sequence of events. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues into the exact motive and cause of death.
