Guwahati: Guwahati Government Railway Police arrested three people at the Guwahati Railway Station after discovering 55 kilograms of cannabis in their possession. The bust marks another win in a string of aggressive operations aimed at shutting down drug pipelines throughout Assam.

Authorities are currently digging into the supply chain to track where the shipment started and where it was headed. Police want to know if others helped move the load. "The latest seizure also highlights the continuing use of transportation networks for the movement of illegal drugs," officials stated.

The force is keeping a tight grip on transit points. Guwahati acts as a primary hub for moving people and freight across the Northeast. As a result, cops are running consistent sweeps at highways and stations to choke off the local drug trade.
