Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang returned to Government Senior Secondary School in Chota Samdong on October 12. He once taught at the Soreng district institution. The school marked its golden jubilee this week. Tamang called the visit a nostalgic trip. He praised the teachers, students, alumni, parents, and locals for building the school over five decades.
The Chief Minister noted that his past teaching stint taught him about the patience needed to mentor children. He promised to boost state education by fixing infrastructure and pushing for better learning standards. His plan covers academics, sports, and cultural growth for all students. He also wants to prioritize digital tools, career advice, and teacher training to keep pace with global changes.
Tamang told the current students to aim high. He pushed them to stay curious and grind hard to reach their goals. Addressing the crowd, he said, "Your circumstances should never limit your ambitions." He thanked the land donors and school staff for their efforts.
