Sangtam Students Union Hosts Tuensang Skill Fest

Kohima: The Sangtam Students Union Tuensang Town held a two-day Skill Fest from July 30 to July 31 at the Sangtam Baptist Lithro. The event carried the theme Building Skills, Shaping Futures. It aimed to boost youth entrepreneurship and self-reliance. General secretary Sangtam Lirose chaired the kickoff. Youth pastor Ronglikhum opened with an invocation, and SSUTT president Sichola Sangtam delivered the welcome address.

SSUTT Executive Secretary Thsadila outlined the vision for the initiative. USSC president Adekhing I Sangtam provided a keynote address. Special guest Imkonglemba Anar, assistant director of SIB Tuensang, spoke to the crowd. He told the attendees: "Embrace skill development as a pathway towards sustainable livelihoods and employment." Women Ministry member Sentila closed the first session with a benediction.

Experts from Government ITI Tuensang and other professionals led training in five fields. Students worked on embroidery, house wiring, crochet, carpentry, and music. Participants showed strong enthusiasm during the hands-on sessions. By the end, they put on practical demonstrations to show what they learned. Many said the event built their confidence and would help their future careers. The union plans to run more programs like this to help the Sangtam community grow.
