Guwahati: Locals in Kamrup district are calling for an investigation after staff at the Jongakhuli Ayushman Arogya Mandir allegedly mishandled the national flag. The incident occurred at the health center under the Boko-Chaygaon LAC on Sunday. Someone hoisted the flag at 1:30 pm, but staff left the facility entirely unattended shortly after.

The Tricolour snapped in the wind without anyone watching over it. It failed to meet standard protocol. Residents later watched as the flag was lowered in a way they described as disrespectful to the national symbol. The community did not hold back their frustration. One resident stated, "The incident has drawn criticism from locals, who raised concerns over the alleged negligence in handling the national flag at a government health facility."

Citizens want the authorities to step in. They expect a full review of why the lapse occurred. Officials must find out who was responsible and fix the broken protocol to keep it from happening again.
