Police Arrest Couple in Shillong Drug Raid

Shillong: The Anti-Narcotic Task Force raided a home in Them Iew Mawlong late Saturday night. They caught Chiman Masih and his wife in a sting operation sparked by local drug trafficking tips. Officers grabbed the woman first before tearing through the property.

The team seized 15.19 grams of suspected narcotics and 77 vials from the scene. A crowd showed up to obstruct the police work. Tensions flared in the streets. Officers from the Special Operations Team had to move in to secure the area, allowing the search to finish. "Further investigation is under way," said a spokesperson for the department.

Police booked the pair under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. They remain in custody as the case moves forward.
