Arunbhoomi Managing Director Takam Sonia sparked the fire. He toured local shops alongside drug inspectors to audit staff credentials. Sonia flagged multiple pharmacies for lacking registered pharmacists on duty. He warned these practices put the public in danger.
Sonia visited the Naharlagun Police Station following rumors of a filed FIR. Police offered no confirmation on a formal case. A crowd of locals and Pharmacy Union members descended on the station as tensions flared. The subsequent closures hit patients needing urgent prescriptions hard.
The Arunachal Pradesh Chemist and Druggist Association pushed back against the chaos. President Pawan Bagang denied any organized statewide shutdown. He slammed the rumors as a "media stunt" that had created unnecessary panic among the public. Bagang ordered all owners to keep doors open and continue serving the community. He promised residents that medicine supplies remain safe and fully operational across the state.
