One dead, three injured in Ratabari scooter collision

Guwahati: A high-speed motorcycle slammed into a scooter yesterday in the Ratabari area of Sribhumi. The crash happened directly in front of the Ratabari Chargola Hospital. One man is dead. Three others suffered injuries.

The victim, Muktar Hussain, also known as Shahajahan, lived in the Gandharajbari area under the Ratabari Gaon Panchayat. A speeding bike struck his scooter from behind. Locals pulled him from the wreckage and rushed him to the Chargola Mini Hospital. Doctors determined he needed advanced care and ordered a transfer to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The trip ended in tragedy. Family sources confirmed he died while in transit. Authorities released his body to the family after conducting a post-mortem examination. According to the family, the funeral prayer for Shahajahan will be held at 8:15 pm on September 22 in front of the Kazirbazar Jama Masjid.

The community remains in shock. Officials have yet to release more information on the crash or provide updates on the three survivors. The investigation remains active as authorities seek clarity on the circumstances.
