Kohima: Five NPF units from the 27 Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency gathered at Mujabi Ground on September 17. The Aongza, Kumlong, Kichutip, Mongsenbai, and Salangtem units met for a youth festival. They operated under the motto Animus Fortius and the theme One Goal One Voice.
Rural Development Minister Metsübo Jamir sponsored the event. It featured a Futsal Championship alongside performances from local bands and solo artistes. Kichutip took the top prize in the party workers category. Mongsenbai finished second. Meyikaba from Kumlong grabbed best goalkeeper honors. Moamongba of Mongsenbai won player of the tournament.
Kumlong won the professional category. Mongsenbai took runner-up again. Imliakum of Aongza secured best goalkeeper. Yaho of Kumlong earned player of the tournament. Each award winner received a cash prize. Minister Jamir handed out the trophies during the closing session.
Jamir pushed for stronger grassroots presence. He linked the festival to the recent NPF enrolment drive. He warned that party work must continue beyond simple election cycles. He said, "The purpose of bringing people together should ultimately be to serve the people." This event marked the seventh straight year of the program. Organizers swapped traditional football for futsal this time to expand the festival scope.
