Imphal: The National Investigation Agency questioned United Naga Council President NG Lorho on Tuesday. The session took place in Senapati. It follows the May 13 ambush that killed three pastors in the Kotlem-Kotzim area of Kangpokpi district. The NIA team included Dy.SP Manish Prabhune, CIO Abhijeet Pawar, and CT Anil Patil.
This case is officially tracked as RC-09/2026/NIA/IMP. The federal agency took over the probe from the New Keithelmanbi Police Station under government orders. NIA officials stayed silent when reporters asked for updates on the case status or the details of the testimony provided by the UNC leader.
Lorho offered full cooperation to the investigators after the meeting. He told reporters, "We welcome the NIA officials and extend our full cooperation in whatever way we can in the investigation into the targeted ambush and killings of the three pastors."
The UNC president pushed the agency to speed up a separate investigation into the death of six Naga men. He claims authorities have made no real progress on that file. Lorho warned that his community might escalate protests beyond the current economic blockade if justice remains stalled. He pinned the responsibility for the situation on both the state government of Manipur and the central government in New Delhi.
