Guwahati: Twenty-four para athletes left Nagaon on August 16 for the 6th All Assam Para Sports Meet in Guwahati. They have their eyes on the prize. The event takes place August 17 and 18 at the Bhogeswar Baruah Stadium in Sarusajai.

These competitors earned their spots during a selection camp held June 28 at the Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon. They represent their home district against the best talent from across the state.

Seven supervisors are traveling with the squad to manage operations. The group includes Bonkima Chakraborty, Ajay Sharma, Pratyush Pratim Bora, Rishav Jajodia, Aniruddha Kurmi, Rudra Bora, and Sumit Sharma. These officials will guide the athletes as they aim to bring home victories and showcase their skills.

The competition provides a major stage for these individuals. Local supporters hope the experience yields strong results, noting the team is "carrying dreams of excelling at the state level" while preparing to compete against fellow para athletes from across Assam.
