Kohima: Nagaland Staff Selection Board officials met Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on September 23 at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. They laid out a laundry list of hurdles currently stalling their work. The board pointed to deep ambiguities in service rules and eligibility requirements as major blockers. They also flagged severe constraints regarding office space and the need for secure facilities to protect sensitive exam data.
The board needs a dedicated IT cell and a private premises to manage confidential testing materials. Constant tech updates are mandatory. During the briefing, officials explained that the board remains vital for centralized hiring. Established on July 31, 2020, and operational by August 25, 2022, the NSSB handles recruitment for Grade III posts across Pay Matrix Levels 3 through 7 for the Nagaland government.
Progress is happening despite the roadblocks. The board has already pushed through examinations for 1,734 advertised spots. These efforts resulted in 4,232 candidates heading to interviews and 1,511 people landing jobs. The group emphasized their move toward total transparency through online registration, e-admit cards, and digital access to answer keys.
Looking ahead, the board intends to sharpen its data repository and transition to a paperless ecosystem. They aim for tighter cybersecurity and more staff training to keep the system clean. The board stated the primary goal is "strengthening its recruitment data repository" while building a more robust digital workflow.
