Kohima: The Nagaland Bar Association is shutting down court operations on September 25. Members will stop all legal proceedings that day. The protest targets the State Government for failing to remove the current Advocate General from office.
Lawyers across all District Courts will still show up to work. However, they will strip off their official coats and bands. The association remains firm on its stance. In a formal resolution, the group stated: "considering the inaction of the Government in securing the resignation of the incumbent Advocate General, as a further expression of protest, the Nagaland Bar Association shall disengage from all Court proceedings on 25.09.2026."
This move acts as an escalation of previous demands. The association warns of further action if the government ignores them. They will decide on additional steps once the protest concludes.
