Imphal: Lok Sabha MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam is eyeing a move to state politics. He confirmed his intent to run for the Keishamthong seat in the 2027 Manipur Assembly elections, provided he secures a party ticket. He spoke at the Keishampat Keisham Leikai Community Hall in Imphal on October 18.
The event celebrated the 78th anniversary of Manipur’s first elected Assembly, formed back in 1948. Addressing the crowd, the MP laid out his terms clearly. "If the party gives me the ticket, I will contest from Keishamthong Assembly Constituency," Akoijam said.
Voters need to rethink their priorities. Akoijam warned the public to look past standard campaign promises of development. He urged citizens to instead back candidates capable of protecting the state and building a secure future for Manipur.
