Mokokchung Issues Emergency Traffic Rerouting Due to Highway Damage

Kohima: Severe damage to National Highway-2 has forced the Mokokchung district administration to reroute all traffic between Chuchuyimlang and Unger village. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma issued the advisory on July 28. These rules start now and stay active until further notice.

Drivers heading between Mokokchung town and Tuli must take the route through Impur Junction, Longjang, and Kelingmen. Those traveling to Chuchuyimlang are diverted via Impur Junction, Yisemyong, and Mongsenyimti. The district administration said the new traffic regulations have come into force with immediate effect and would remain in place until further notice to ensure commuter safety and facilitate smooth traffic movement.

Changtongya travel follows a one-way system. Traffic toward the town runs through Impur Junction, Longjang, Kelingmen, Unger, and Akhoya. Returning vehicles must use the route through Unger Local Ground and the Chuchuyimlang or Kelingmen Junction. Officials expect drivers to obey these orders, cooperate with deployed personnel, and stay alert for future updates.
