Modern College students represent Nagaland at federal internship talks

Kohima: Two students from Modern College traveled to New Delhi on September 4, 2026, to represent Nagaland at a national consultation for the Prime Minister Internship Scheme. The event took place at the UNICEF YuWaah office. Youth delegates from across India met with officials from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and UNICEF to hash out the details of the new work program.

The scheme targets real world experience for young workers. Participants examined internship length, stipend amounts, and age eligibility rules. They also debated how to make these roles accessible for people living in remote or underserved areas. The students from Modern College ensured the specific needs of the Northeast remained part of the federal conversation. Modern College praised the duo for their work on national policy. A college representative noted that the visit helped the institution contribute to "the future of youth employment, skills and opportunities in India."
