Meghalaya Tourism Group Demands Roadside Cooking Ban

The forum says these actions wreck the cleanliness and health of popular destinations. They want the government to step in with stricter regulations and better monitoring. The group argues that the state's waterfalls, forests, and rural sites need immediate protection. They insist that "Meghalaya's natural landscapes, waterfalls, forests and rural tourism destinations are among its biggest attractions and require greater protection from pollution and unsustainable visitor activities."

Officials need to act fast. The goal is to promote responsible tourism before growth destroys the environment. The state must ensure visitors follow better practices to preserve the fragile local ecosystem.
