Meghalaya Film Makers Association Honors Delhi Creator Harshit Dhingaun

Shillong: The Meghalaya Film Makers Association honored Delhi-based creator Harshit Dhingaun for ten years of documenting the state. The group celebrated the YouTube creator and Delhi Fashion Club chairman during their 16th Foundation Day held last month at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. He earned the recognition for his digital work on his platform, The VOY, also known as Voice of Youth.

Dhingaun turned his lens toward Meghalaya five years ago. He covered major cultural events like the Khasi Shad Suk Mynsiem, the Garo Wangala, and the Jaintia Behdienkhlam festivals. His work also supported the Koch community. In 2025, he ran the Meghalaya Showcase at Delhi Fashion Week with state government backing to push handlooms and local heritage into the national spotlight.

He does not just focus on tourism. Dhingaun used his digital reach to highlight illegal encroachment along the Meghalaya-Bangladesh border. He also pushed for better recognition of the Garo community living in Delhi. His initiative, International Reinvent Northeast, already drew praise from the Nagaland government and federal offices. He thanked MFMA president Commander Shangpliang and the Department of Information and Public Relations for their support.

"Receiving this honour is special because it comes from a region that has inspired my work for a decade," Dhingaun said. He plans to keep showing the talent and traditions of Northeast India to the world.
