Imphal: Manipur officials launched a new Holistic Progress Card and an Integrated Test Management System this Thursday. The rollout happened at Classic Grande in Imphal. The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, known as COHSEM, spearheaded the move. These initiatives follow the National Education Policy 2020. The state is acting under guidance from PARAKH-NCERT based in New Delhi.

Forty-six schools will start using the progress card in a phased rollout. It looks at more than just test scores. The 360-degree model tracks self-assessment, time management, and project work alongside classroom engagement. It monitors future aspirations and specific skill sets. Traditional COHSEM examinations will remain for summative grading.

The Integrated Test Management System brings testing into the digital age. It builds a competency-based question bank for school boards. COHSEM staff built the platform using the PARAKH Taxonomy. Manipur stands as one of the first smaller state education boards to adopt this tech. It aligns local testing with federal goals.

State spokesperson and MLA Th Radheshyam Singh spoke at the launch. He joined Commissioner Ningthoujam Geoffrey and COHSEM Chairman Takhellambam Ojit Singh at the event. Professor Indrani Bhaduri, head of PARAKH-NCERT, tuned in online. Radheshyam pushed for a shift in classroom culture. "Let us make school a place of attraction," he stated during the address. He urged teachers to view errors as learning moments rather than failures.

MLA Th Radheshyam Singh demanded a shift in how teachers operate, pushing for more discipline and respect in the classroom. He hammered the point that teachers must ditch standard homework reliance in favor of activity based learning. He also laid out a clear expectation for the staff: Love your profession and do your job with passion.
