Manipur Hosts Seva Jyoti Yatra to Push Government Services

Imphal: Manipur districts buzzed with activity today as the Seva Jyoti Yatra rolled through the state. The events mark a major push for the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Crowds rallied and officials marched to bring government services directly to the public.

In Bishnupur, a bike rally roared from the INA Auditorium Hall in Moirang to the Mini Secretariat Complex. MLAs Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, Thongam Shanti Singh, and Sanasam Premchandra Singh flagged off the riders. Over 1,000 people gathered to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak from New Delhi and took the Viksit Bharat Pledge.

MLA S.S. Olish started a rally in Chandel at the Indoor Stadium. The procession ended at the DC Complex where attendees watched the Prime Minister and BJP national president Nitin Nabin speak via livestream. Churachandpur saw three separate yatras start from Rengkai, Lamka Public Ground, and Molnom. These groups met at Tuibong before heading to the District Panchayat Resource Centre. Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar administered the Viksit Bharat Pledge to the group.

The Noney District Administration and the District Child Protection Unit marched from the DC Complex. They held a Child Protection Foot March to spotlight risks like child labour, neglect, and violence. They also pushed awareness for the Child Helpline 1098.

Tengnoupal combined its yatra with a Seva Setu Abhiyan, known as Sarkar Aapke Dwar. Officials set up 13 stalls to help locals access government benefits. They handed out 80 old-age pension cards and provided school books, horticulture aid, and farm equipment. Pherzawl held its own event at the DC Camp Office. Deputy Commissioner Anunay Anand led the gathering, telling participants, "The district-level programmes aimed to take government services and development initiatives closer to the people and encourage public participation in the broader objective of Viksit Bharat @ 2047."
