Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen delivered humanitarian aid to villages along the Imphal-Tamenglong Road today. The region is reeling from a three-month economic blockade enforced by United Naga Council volunteers. Supplies ran thin. Prices soared for basic goods.

Kipgen sent 100 bags of rice, 5 bags of sugar, and 10 bags of dal to help. Local community elders distributed these items to Chaljang, T. Kholmun, Wakotphai, K. Haimol, and Bileijang. These specific settlements suffered through recent armed attacks. They remain vulnerable.

The blockade ended, yet normalcy stays out of reach. Residents face persistent threats to their safety. They cannot travel or reach markets safely. The area remains effectively stranded despite the formal end of the movement restrictions. Locals expressed gratitude for the intervention.

The community leaders issued a demand for better protection. They called on state authorities to implement long-term security measures and "guarantee safe transit across the vital transport corridor." The region needs more than temporary supplies. Families continue to endure profound hardship.
