Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh convened a meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre at the Secretariat in Imphal on June 16. The session focused on reviewing strategies to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse, emphasizing a need for sharper inter-agency coordination and improved intelligence sharing among state and central forces.

Key officials attended the briefing, including Home Minister K. Govindas Singh, the Director General of Police, and the state Security Adviser. Representatives from the Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, and Central Reserve Police Force also participated to ensure a unified approach to enforcement. The primary goal is to dismantle existing drug networks while curbing the spread of narcotics and psychotropic substances among the youth.

Addressing the assembly, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state government remains dedicated to these efforts. He said, "the state government remains committed to dismantling drug networks and intensifying action against those involved in the illegal trade." Through a mix of sustained enforcement and awareness initiatives, officials intend to move the state closer to its objective of becoming completely drug-free.
