Man killed in South West Khasi Hills vehicle crash

Shillong: Plidorlang Iawphniaw died on the spot Tuesday night. His vehicle skidded off the road and slammed into a roadside stone at Dom Kyllai Myrsiang in South West Khasi Hills. The 28-year-old from Mawrap village was driving from Mawkyrwat market toward Rangmaw village when the wreck happened.

Local residents reported the incident occurred after dark. Family members told investigators they believe the crash was purely accidental, noting they "does not suspect any foul play."

Mawkyrwat Police Station officers have registered an unnatural death case. An official inquiry is moving forward to confirm the circumstances surrounding the mishap.
