Kohima Police Seize Massive Illegal Liquor Haul In Fake BSF Vehicle

Kohima: Kohima Police intercepted a transport carrier packed with illegal liquor on September 29. The bust occurred under the jurisdiction of the Zubza Police Station at 2:35 pm. Officers discovered 7,740 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, each holding 750 ml of spirits. The haul has a market value of roughly Rs 50 lakh.

Cops arrested the driver at the scene. They are currently hunting for the supplier, the truck owner, and the intended buyer. Investigators face a bold smuggling tactic. The smugglers slapped a BSF Duty sign on the windshield to trick officers and bypass inspections.

Police are now examining the fake marking to determine how the operation functioned. This remains a priority as the department cracks down on bootleggers following recent deaths linked to tainted booze. The investigation is ongoing. Officials stated the marking is being checked "as part of the investigation to establish the modus operandi adopted for transporting the illegal consignment."
