Shillong: Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat launched the council’s official website on Tuesday. The event took place at the Council’s Conference Hall. Developed by the National Informatics Centre, the portal at https://jhadc.nic.in/ gives the public direct access to council regulations, forms, and fee structures.
Shiwat pushed his technical team to keep the site updated. He wants it to be a functional resource for everyone. The launch saw attendance from Chairman Dr. Sankey Shangpung, Executive Member Medling M. Swer, and several members of the district council.
The council is moving to digitize its services. Shiwat also tackled the ongoing crisis regarding unpaid wages. He confirmed the JHADC will pay all outstanding salaries in one lump sum after recent talks with the state government. He promised regular monthly paychecks moving forward. "The JHADC will soon release all outstanding salary dues in a single installment," Shiwat said.
