Guwahati: Olympic sprinter Hima Das, famously called the Dhing Express, walked away with the Pride of the Northeast Award during the first North East Creator Circuit. The event in Guwahati brought over 125 digital creators together to swap ideas and grow their reach. It was a massive turnout. More than 300 people signed up to attend.
Organizers recognized 32 individuals for their work across various fields during the Creator Icons Awards. Amrita Gogoi claimed the Voice and Digital Impact Award. Maxina Paonam from Imphal picked up the Style Statement Award. Preety Kongana earned the title of Fashion Creator of the Year. Beyond the talent, judges also handed out awards to businesses for their success in creator-led collaborations.
Participants hailed from all eight northeastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur. The session included a fashion show and deep dives into the shifting world of digital content. Organizers confirmed the initiative will continue as a permanent hub for regional talent. They said, "The response to the first edition exceeded expectations, with participation from creators across all eight northeastern states."
