Guwahati: A group of gamblers attacked seven youths at Dhania Bheti Kalabazar in Batadrava, Nagaon district. The victims were filming a game when the violence erupted. The situation turned ugly fast.

One victim, Rafiqul Islam, ended up in the hospital in critical condition. Locals claim these gambling dens operate in the open while dodging Batadrava Police. The activity has allegedly gone unchecked for a long time.

The All Assam Minority Sangram Parishad officially complained to the local station. They want answers. Officers now face pressure to track down the attackers and address the illegal gambling rings. The department said, "Police are expected to investigate the allegations and ascertain the circumstances leading to the attack."
