Guwahati: A fox terrorized Harinagar Part-II village in the Cachar district of Assam on Wednesday. It left eight people hurt. The chaos started when Razia Begum Laskar walked outside her home. The animal lunged at her, biting her repeatedly. Neighbors and family members scrambled to help her. The fox turned on them too.
The wild animal charged into multiple houses. It struck eight residents in total. The injured include Furkan Uddin Laskar, Fakhran Nessa Laskar, Razia Begum Laskar, Ahad Uddin Laskar, Sayra Begum Laskar, Jabrul Uddin, and Intajur Rahman. One other victim remains unidentified. Doctors sent four of the most severely wounded to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Local medical staff treated and released the others.
Fear hangs over the village now. Residents worry about more wild animal sightings. Forest department officials plan to search for the creature. A local resident described the scene: "The incident has triggered fear among residents of Harinagar Part-II, with many expressing concern over the presence of wild animals in the locality."
