Four Meghalaya Coaches Earn Level 1 Swimming Certification

Shillong: Four Khasi candidates from Meghalaya finished a Level 1 Swimming Coach Certification course held outside the state. The Swim Well Aquatic Club confirmed the news on August 11. This marks the second time a group of four locals completed the training program. Success helps build the roster of qualified instructors in the region.

The club designed the course to teach technical skills, safety protocols, and proper instruction methods. These experts hope to raise standards for swimming at the grassroots level. Better coaching keeps kids safe. SWAC officials urged the public to check for credentials before hiring an instructor.

"The certification was aimed at equipping aspiring swimming coaches with the necessary knowledge, technical skills and safety practices required to provide quality instruction," the club stated in a public notice. Experts say trained eyes prevent accidents. SWAC expects this move to grow the sport while prioritizing safety across all Meghalaya pools.
