Kohima: Agriculture experts brought disinfection and hygiene training to Razaphe Village in Chümoukedima on August 21. The event fell under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman 2.0 campaign. Dr. Anil Kumar S. T., a scientist at the CSB MESSO P3 Unit in Narayanpur, led the session alongside Sericulture Supervisor Pete.

Farmers learned how to clean rearing houses. They practiced new techniques to stop disease and keep silkworms healthy. These methods aim to raise output. The organizers want to build better knowledge among local growers. “The programme aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and encourage adoption of scientific hygiene and disinfection practices for sustainable and healthy sericulture production.”

Clean rearing environments lead to better performance. Trainers showed the crew how to handle disinfection gear. The goal remains clear. They want to ensure long-term stability for the region's silk industry.
