East Garo Hills village restores power after three years of darkness

Shillong: Power returned to Bolmoram A-dinggre in East Garo Hills on June 19. The village sat in the dark for three years after a transformer failed. Residents in the Nongalbibra circle suffered through years of daily struggle without electricity.

The state government previously handed power management to FEDCO. Locals repeatedly alerted FEDCO officials about the broken equipment, but the company failed to fix it. The village remained powerless for years.

Operations recently shifted to SAI Computers Limited. The company acted quickly to resolve the long-standing crisis. A representative from the firm confirmed the restoration effort. "Ia songo transformer nosto ong·aha ine songni manderang u·iataha aro u·iatako man·soa bakan company-ni manderang, transformer-ko nina re·angaha. Uni ja·man ta·raken transformer-ko teksree on·na man·aha aro ia songna bijolko on·piltaina man·aha," the official stated.

Villagers expressed relief at the news. Life in the village is finally back to normal. The community thanked SAI Computers for finally ending the blackout.
