Kohima: Arthur Edward, the founder of Livingstone Foundation International, has died. News of his passing triggered an outpouring of grief from groups throughout Dimapur. The Naga People's Front Central Minority Wing lauded his work as an educationist and social worker. They credited him with shaping the lives of students across the Northeast through his focus on character and nation-building.
"The remarkable legacy of Edward will continue to inspire generations to come," the NPF Central Minority Wing stated in a message of condolence. They offered prayers for his family and the entire faculty and student body at the foundation.
The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland remembered Edward as a pillar for permanent settlers. Chairman Bishnu Bhattacharjee highlighted his dedication to peaceful coexistence. "He firmly believed in diversity, peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and the spirit of brotherhood, and consistently encouraged harmony among all communities," Bhattacharjee said.
The Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association also paid their respects. Edward founded Breeze Bakery and Restaurant, a local staple. He served as a mentor to NMDA president Ato Yepthomi. The group noted his impact on local business and education. "A pillar of Dimapur has fallen. His contribution to business, education and social service will always be remembered," the association said.
