Kohima: Civil society organizations in Dimapur are speaking out against the recent sexual assault of a minor, describing the incident as a barbaric violation of human dignity and child rights. The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) joined other groups in expressing deep shock and grief, labeling the crime as an attack on the moral fabric of society. ASTD leadership, including president Ningsangwaba and general secretary K. Tsukti Longchar, stated that such acts demand full social condemnation and must not be minimized.
The Dimapur Watsü Telongjem (DWT) issued a similar statement, noting that violence against children requires zero tolerance from the public. President Kenyangerla and general secretary Wangshikokla urged authorities to implement stringent measures to protect the vulnerable and prevent future crimes, while asking the community to provide compassion and support to the victim and her family.
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) specifically identified O. Watimeren Jamir and his alleged associates in connection with the abuse. NSF president Mteisuding and general secretary Kenilo Kent called the assault inhumane and urged law enforcement to conduct a prompt, impartial investigation. The Federation emphasized that accountability is essential and requested that justice be served without delay to ensure the rights and well-being of the survivor.
