Bishramganj Office Clash Leaves Three Injured

Agartala: A violent power struggle erupted at the Bishramganj Rural Development office on Monday. Two groups of contractors squared off, turning the government building into a fight zone. Two contractors, identified as Plaban Saha and Sagar Nag from Bishalgarh, suffered injuries during the attack. Their vehicles were vandalized in the process.

Purnajoy Reang, a Tripura State Rifles trooper, jumped into the fray to stop the fighting. He took injuries while trying to settle the row and required hospital care. Local sources stated: "Purnajoy Reang was injured while attempting to control the situation and was later taken to hospital for treatment."

The Additional Superintendent of Police and additional officers rushed to the site after the brawl. Authorities deployed a heavy contingent of TSR personnel to lock down the premises and restore order. The area remains on edge.

Political factions are currently trading blame over the chaos. Some leaders point fingers at Tipra Motha, claiming the party acted to flex its muscle before the upcoming VC polls. Other observers argue the incident stems from internal rot within the ruling party. Bishalgarh and Charilam have spent years dealing with these types of political skirmishes. Tensions among the ruling class have become a standard, ugly feature of local life.
