Guwahati: Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sharma ordered a toll exemption for local drivers near the Raha Toll Gate. Private vehicles within a 7-kilometre radius now get a free pass. Officials acted after residents pressed for relief. The policy mirrors the rules currently active at the Sonapur Toll Gate.

Drivers must grab a pass at the Ranthali Toll Gate to qualify. Applicants need to hand over their documents to the local toll plaza authority to prove they live within the zone. The district office told gate staff to get moving on the paperwork. This change helps locals who use the road for everyday trips. "The decision is intended to provide relief to local residents who regularly use the road and have sought an exemption from toll charges," the administration stated.
