Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed on July 19 that the state will finalize seven dedicated sites in New Delhi by late 2026. These projects aim to house and support travelers from the state.
Work involves three new complexes in Central Delhi and Dwarka, which will sit alongside the current Assam House. One Dwarka site will house a Naamghar and a Convention Hall to promote community activities. Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan are also under construction in the same area. This boosts representation for indigenous groups.
Sarma mentioned future plans for a Barak Bhawan to serve the Barak Valley region. He noted, "Assam will soon have seven dedicated spaces in New Delhi for people from the state visiting the national capital." These facilities intend to improve housing and official support for all visitors.
