Guwahati: Assam Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika touched down in Raha on August 9 to check on the state's food supply network. He went to inspect preparations for the return of subsidised essential commodities like sugar and dal. The system targets families living under the National Food Security Act.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will lead the formal relaunch this Sunday. Hazarika spent his time reviewing the logistics and ensuring the delivery chain is ready. The government intends to fix supply gaps for those eligible for support. "The initiative is aimed at strengthening food security and providing continued support to beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act," Hazarika noted during his visit.
Officials want to guarantee families get their goods at cheap prices. This push aims to lock in food access for the most vulnerable citizens across the region.
