Assam Minister Grants Aid to 857 Moran Council Students

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu handed out grants to 857 high-achieving students on July 19. The event took place at the Manav Kalyan Puja Bhawan in Tinsukia district. The Moran Autonomous Council hosted the ceremony. Students received recognition for passing their 2026 HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations.

Minister Rameswar Teli attended alongside MLAs Bolin Chetia, Suren Phukan, Sanjoy Kishan, and Pulok Gohain. Arunjyoti Moran, the Council's Chief Executive Member, oversaw the proceedings. Pegu issued both financial aid and appreciation certificates as part of the Heketa Scheme. The state wants to push Moran students toward higher education.

Pegu lauded the local council for the work. He told the crowd, "such programmes play a vital role in motivating young students to achieve academic excellence and continue their educational journey." The minister closed the day with best wishes for the graduates and their future studies.
