Assam Chief Minister Backs Small Businesses on Industry Day

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledged new support for micro, small, and medium enterprises on Sunday, August 30. He marked Small Industry Day with a public vow to bolster local entrepreneurship. The state needs growth.

Sarma took to X to outline his agenda. He called these small shops the backbone of a vibrant and self-reliant economy. The Chief Minister aims to help the state's youth turn raw ideas into functioning businesses. "On Small Industry Day, I reaffirm our Government's commitment to empowering MSMEs, supporting entrepreneurs and encouraging the youth of Assam to transform ideas into enterprises that create jobs and drive growth," Sarma said.

India observes Small Industry Day every August 30. The date celebrates the heavy lifting these small-scale shops do for the national workforce and local output. The government intends to keep driving this momentum forward.
