Itanagar: Health authorities in Lower Subansiri are shutting down a viral lie. Social media users have been spreading claims that attendees of the recent Ziro Music Festival need HIV or AIDS testing. The posts falsely suggest that HIV positive outsiders flocked to the event. This is completely untrue.

Dr. Millo Kunya, the District Medical Officer, issued a formal circular to kill the rumors. He confirmed that neither the State AIDS Control Society nor the District AIDS Control Society sent out any such advisory. The state health department wants people to stop spreading this garbage.

The circular explicitly addressed the misinformation: "Whereas, false reports are circulating on the Social media platforms claiming that Ziro Music Festival mei jo log aya ta/hai,,juldi HIV AIDS test kro, outsider log HIV positive wala log aya hai…informed by AIDS control society."

Officials are demanding that the public ignore these unauthentic posts. They insist that citizens only trust news from verified government channels. The health department stressed that the claims are total fabrications. "Whereas, this reports are completely inaccurate, misinformation and unauthentic. Therefore, I urged the Public & Media to refrain from such unauthentic post, this are not issued from State AIDS Control Society/District Aids Control Society," the statement added.
