Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.) met with Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia on Tuesday, September 29, to discuss the Indian Air Force's role in the state. They met at Lok Bhavan to talk over national security and operational readiness of Advanced Landing Grounds.

Parnaik thanked the Eastern Air Command for its heavy lifting during natural disasters. He noted the state's rugged geography makes road travel nearly impossible. The IAF stepped up by moving relief supplies, pulling stranded residents from danger zones, and flying patients out of remote areas. The Governor stated, "The IAF had played an important role in rapid response operations during floods and landslides."

Talks also focused on improving civilian air links to boost the state economy. Parnaik pushed for more engagement with local youth. He wants to see more air shows, educational tours, and National Cadet Corps programs to build career awareness. Air Marshal Walia pledged the Eastern Air Command will keep working closely with the state on regional security and emergency response projects.
