Itanagar: Governor KT Parnaik wants a tech overhaul in Arunachal Pradesh. He told officials on Thursday, August 6, that Geographic Information System technology must become the foundation of state governance. He spoke at the Geo Vision Itanagar seminar, an event hosted by Esri India in the state capital.

The governor argued that the region's harsh terrain and complex geography demand advanced tools. He pushed for every government department to adopt a single, shared geospatial framework. This shift aims to fix communication gaps between agencies. "GIS must become cornerstone of governance in Arunachal," Parnaik said.

Parnaik proposed a new State Geospatial Governance Platform to handle the heavy lifting. This hub would streamline planning and ensure officials make policy decisions backed by hard data. Integrating these systems will boost administrative efficiency and improve how the state delivers public services to its citizens.
